Portable Toilet Rental

Construction Site Portable Toilet Rental

On-site sanitation for active job sites, scheduled around the build and relocated as work moves across the pad.

What It Is

Providing sanitation on a construction site is a federal requirement, not a courtesy. OSHA's construction sanitation standard (29 CFR 1926.51) requires employers to provide toilet facilities on site, with the number of facilities scaling to the size of the crew.

The practical job is keeping units close enough to the work that people actually use them, and keeping them serviced often enough that they stay usable through the whole build — which means moving them as the site changes.

Why It Works

Placed where the crew works

Units set near the active area get used; units parked at the far gate cost the crew time and get avoided.

Relocated as the build moves

As work shifts across the pad, units can move with it rather than leaving crews walking the length of the site.

Scheduled servicing

Recurring pump-out, sanitize and restock on a fixed cadence for the duration of the project.

Scales with the crew

Add or remove stalls as headcount changes between phases rather than holding peak capacity throughout.

Who It Is For

  • General contractors and construction managers.
  • Residential builders and remodelers.
  • Road, utility and site-work crews.
  • Commercial and multi-phase development projects.
  • Trade subcontractors responsible for their own facilities.

What To Know

OSHA sets minimum facility counts

29 CFR 1926.51 requires one facility for 20 or fewer employees, and scales up from there. Confirm the current text of the standard for your crew size — it is the binding reference, not a rule of thumb.

Winter needs different handling

Below freezing, units need placement out of the wind and appropriate cold-weather treatment. Plan for it before the first hard freeze rather than after.

Access changes as the site changes

A spot that a service truck could reach in month one may be inside a fenced pour in month three. Flag site changes so servicing is not missed.

Construction Sites Questions

How many portable toilets does OSHA require on a construction site?
OSHA's construction sanitation standard, 29 CFR 1926.51, requires one toilet facility for 20 or fewer employees and increases the requirement as crew size grows. Check the current standard text for the figure that applies to your crew, as it is the binding requirement.
Can portable toilets be moved as the job progresses?
Yes, and on most sites they should be. Relocating units to stay near the active work area is normal practice on multi-phase builds. Arrange moves in advance so they can be scheduled.
How often should construction site units be serviced?
Weekly service is the common baseline for a crew of up to about ten people per unit. Larger crews, hot weather and heavy use all warrant more frequent servicing.
